Mission


Our mission is to provide the highest quality public works services to the public and other city departments, balanced through efforts to maintain a cost effective operation, and to perform these services in a responsible and efficient manner to continually enhance the quality of life for our residents, our customers, and our commercial merchants.

The Jeffersontown Public Works Department maintains much of the infrastructure within the city through the collective efforts of the various crews: 
  • Fleet (police and city), facilities, and street maintenance
  • Landscape and community parks
  • Litter removal
  • Mowing
  • Stormwater drainage maintenance and construction  

Snow Removal


Snow removal is the responsibility of the entire department. We spray brine to minimize the impact of snow and ice on our road system and aggressively respond to clear the roads and municipal areas with 14 fully outfitted snow trucks and a compliment of heavy equipment as required. 

Additional Services 


The Jeffersontown Public Works Department provides setup, cleanup, and preparation for all city and chamber sponsored events such as: 
  • EasterFest
  • Founder's Day
  • SummerFest
  • Gaslight Festival
  • PumpkinFest
  • Holiday on Gaslight Square
  • Little League and High School Tournament Parades
