Candidates will be ranked according to physical ability testing, written testing and oral interviews.
Candidates will be required to successfully complete the Jeffersontown Fire Drill School and successfully complete the Emergency Medical Technician certification. Candidates must also successfully complete the CPAT certification. Drill school will start on or about March 15, 2021.

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Auto Liability Insurance, current
Satisfactory criminal and employment background check
Successful completion of a Jeffersontown Fire provided physical examination
Recruits will participate in a 16 week drill school on a 40 hour work schedule. After completion,
the recruit will be assigned to a fire company on a 24/48 work schedule. Recruits will receive an additional $ 4,000.00 state incentive pay once eligible.
Average hour work 52/week after drill school (all hours above 40
week compensated time and half.
